Dear members, dear 3D enthusiasts,

On 28 December 1927, “inbetween the years” as it were, the German Society for Stereoscopy was founded in Berlin and started its first year of activities in the service of stereoscopy in 1928. Hence, we are going to celebrate our 90th anniversary in 2018 and for this reason return with the 3D congress to the place of our foundation: to Berlin!

Venue

The congress will take place in the theatre of the youth centre Alte Pumpe. The courtyard of Alte Pumpe is located on Lützowstraße in Berlin Tiergarten, right in the middle of the city. As the crow flies, it is about 700 m to Nollendorfplatz, 1 km to Potsdamer Platz, 1.2 km to the posh shopping centre KaDeWe or 1.8 km to the Brandenburg Gate.

On site, there is also the café and restaurant Alte Pumpe, which is going to take over the catering during the congress.

Accommodation

500 metres down the street, the Hotel Berlin, Berlin is located. We have reserved a number rooms at the price of € 109 for a single room or € 129 for a double room including breakfast. You may reserve your room until 26 April by calling +49 30 2605 2700 and quoting “DGS” or by sending a fax to +49 30 2605 39 2715.

Arriving by train

Take a train to the main railway station “Hauptbahnhof”. Follow the signs BUS and leave the station. Cross the big multilane road. The bus stop of line M85 is located right opposite diagonally to the road. Take this bus to the stop “Lützowstraße/Potsdamer Straße” (five stops). Take to the right into Lützowstraße. The site of Alte Pumpe is located on the right after about 500 metres. Alternatively, a taxi from the railway station should cost about € 14.

Arriving by car

The address of the location Alte Pumpe is Lützowstraße 42, 10785 Berlin. (Note the postcode as well. There are two streets by that name!) On site, there is no parking.
