208 images from 54 authors (photographers) had been sent to this year’s competition in the following categories: “general”, “architecture”, “landscapes” and “animals”. Photographers from Australia, Austria, Canada, Slovenia, Switzerland, the USA and Germany took part. Three judges had a close look at the images on 22nd September. DGS had invited an international judging panel: Stephen O’Neil (Switzerland), Gert-Jan Wolkers (The Netherlands) and Peter Schnehagen (Germany). Jan Wolkers had to pull out at short notice, but fortunately Klaus Stückle (Germany) was able to step in immeditately to take his place. Preparing everything for the judges was hard work. Supported by the organizing team the judges were able to finish their job after about 6 hours. The entries had to be divided into digital images, 5 x 5 cm slides and 41 x 101 mm slides. The judges awarded the images between 1 and 10 points. This was how judges decided on the accepted images, with 93 in total from 36 photographers (17 being the minimum number of points for acceptance). The authors have received their results. Presentations of the accepted images have been offered in Sibratsgfäll/Austria, Munich/Germany and Neu-Isenburg/Germany. Every entrant received a CD with all the images and the lists of results. |
